of the UK Reggae and Ska scene in a special one off showcase

The Queen Of Lovers Rock

JANET KAY

After three No1’s in the UK Reggae charts, Janet shot to national fame in 1979 when her breakthrough single ‘Silly Games’ hit No 1 making Janet the first British born female reggae artist to top the British charts. Her debut album followed and became a best seller and she was hailed as the Queen of the emerging Lovers Rock genre. Through the years Janet has maintained a successful career touring as well as recording many well received albums, with her sweet, uplifting vocals winning her many new fans.

The King Of Two Tone

NEVILLE STAPLE

As one of the original members of the Specials, Neville was one of the pioneers of the ‘Two Tone’ movement. Smash hits, Too Much Too Young and Ghost town have defined the new Ska generation. More top singles followed before the band morped into Fun Boy Three to enjoy another run of chart success. Neville formed his own band and the critically acclaimed album The Rude Boy Returns followed and he is still in constant demand on the global Ska scene, touring the world later in 2017 to promote the new album, Return Of Judge Roughneck.
